A group of Middletown residents are planning to attend the Planning Board meeting on March 20th at 6:30pm to oppose the potential building of a two-chamber crematorium on Oak Hill Road between Poricy Park and Fairview Soccer Fields.  The opposing residents are concerned about the location being too close to residential neighborhoods and the toxic fumes released in the forms of dioxins and mercury.  Weather patterns, including windy conditions may carry the pollutants to approximately a 6 mile radius, which would include parts of Red Bank, Fair Haven, Lincroft, Shrewsbury, Atlantic Highlands, Rumson, Holmdel, Hazlet, Keansburg, Oceanport and Eatontown.  The Stop Fairview Crematorium Group has additional information about the negative impact and details on how you can show your support.  You can order a lawn sign, attend the upcoming Planning Board meeting, volunteer your time, sign a petition along with other activities.
